Tinubu meets prominent Niger Delta leader, Asari Dokubo

Alhaji Asari Dokubo, a renowned Niger Delta politician and previous senior agitator in the oil-rich region, is currently meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the State House, Channels tv reports.

Although the agenda for the meeting is unknown, Dokubo is expected to participate in the President’s continuing meetings with Niger Delta opinion leaders.

During a recent meeting with the country’s security officials, the president stated that he would not allow oil theft. Charging leaders of all security agencies, Tinubu indicated that he is going to begin a lot of reforms in terms of our security architecture. He also stated that he would be looking closely into Nigeria’s tragedies in the maritime domain, with a special focus on issues of oil theft.

Tinubu also emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to combat terrorism, insurgency, banditry, oil theft, sea robbery, piracy, and other security issues that threaten the nation’s peace.
