Justice Adeola Olatubosun of the Chief Magistrates Court in Yaba, Lagos State, has reportedly adjourned the trial of Afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti, to Wednesday, May 24, 2023.
The trial which was expected to commence today may 23 2023 was reportedly adjourned over the judge’s absence from court, a source told Punch.
“The trial has been adjourned till tomorrow, May 24, 2023, because the judge is not around, the source said.
Seun Kuti in a viral video on social media was reportedly seen assaulting a police officer on the Third Mainland bridge, as a result, the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba ordered his arrest.
The afrobeat musician later turned himself to the Lagos State Police Command in Ikeja while accompanied by his attorney and a member of his family. He was then sent to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Panti, where he was ultimately taken into custody.
