S/Kaduna: Death toll rises to 33, victims given mass burial

The number of people killed in the bandit raid on Runji Village on Saturday in Kaduna State’s Zangon Kataf Local Government Area has increased to 33.

The local government’s chairman, Francis Sani, revealed this. In addition to seven people suffering injuries of varied severity and currently being treated at the hospital, he said that the attackers set over 40 homes on fire.

Meanwhile, the community and loved ones who had gathered to observe the funeral ritual wept as the 33 attack victims were given a mass burial.

The residents of Kaduna’s southern section demand that the government and security forces act quickly to end the ongoing unrest there before they are all wiped off.
