The state government stated that all but the statutory ones had been dissolved.

In a circular dated June 15, 2023, and signed by the governor’s chief of staff, Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi, the government kept the board of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission and six other bodies from dissolution.

The circular reads, “With reference to the circular letter of May 23, 2023 (Ref.No TIA/4) on the above subject, I write to provide further clarification on the statutory commissions exempted from the directive.

“All ministries, departments, agencies, commissions, boards and parastatals are affected by the directive except the following: Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission, Oyo State Judicial Service Commission, Oyo State Civil Service Commission, Local Government Service Commission, House of Assembly Commission, Oyo State Teaching Service Commission and  Oyo State Audit Commission.”

It enjoined the MDAs to ensure strict adherence to the provision of the circular.

The state government issued a letter on May 23, 2023, dissolving all commissions, boards, and parastatals in the state except statutory ones.
