Oyo Assembly Urges Swift Completion of LAUTECH Teaching Hospital Annex

The Oyo State House of Assembly has called on the State Government to assess and determine resources needed to complete and equip the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital Annex in Oyo.

This follows a motion brought by Hon. Olorunpoto Rahaman, representing Oyo East and West.

The lawmaker noted that Oyo Town lacks a functional tertiary health institution, resulting in preventable deaths due to long distances to Ogbomosho or Ibadan.

He stressed that completing LAUTECH Annex in Oyo town will save lives, alleviate pressure on other healthcare facilities, and provide training opportunities for students.

The Oyo State House of Assembly urged the State Government to allocate necessary funds for the hospital’s completion in the next budget cycle, recognizing its importance in improving healthcare and education.
