Osun: Couple abducted while returning from church around 4:00 a.m.

A couple was allegedly kidnapped on Saturday around 4:00 a.m. while they were returning from a church event on the Osogbo-Iragbiji Road in Osun.

According to reports, the man and his wife were on a motorcycle when they encountered an ambush set up by the kidnappers.

On Monday, SP Yemisi Opalola, the Osun police spokesperson, confirmed the event in Osogbo and stated that the police were looking for the suspects.

“Operatives are combing the bush in the area and we assure the public that the victims will be rescued and the criminals will not escape justice,’’ she said.

Meanwhile, local hunters and police operatives are combing the forest in the area in search of the couple and the abductors.
