May 29: SSS, police asked to arrest Nigerians making inciteful anti-Tinubu comments

Ade Omole, director of the APC Presidential Campaign Council’s defunct diaspora directorate, has requested that security services detain APC opponents for inciting the populace against President-elect Bola Tinubu before the May 29 inauguration.

He made the demand during an interview on Tuesday in Abuja in response to comments made on social media by members of opposition parties calling for the inauguration to be postponed.

“No one can stop the inauguration of Senator Bola Tinubu, the president-elect scheduled for May 29. Tinubu’s inauguration is sacrosanct because it is fully backed by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” stated Mr Omole.

“No one can stop the inauguration at this point. We are aware of a few disgruntled elements posting inciteful and treasonable statements on social media. We are confident that the security agencies have the capacity to deal ruthlessly with any breach, and therefore call on them to arrest such persons immediately.”

Mr. Omole clarified that Mr. Tinubu was proclaimed the victor by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after winning in a free, fair, and credible election.

He said that diaspora Nigerians have begun to arrive in Nigeria for the historic occasion and were eagerly anticipating the swearing-in of the 16th democratically elected president.

He continued, “Nigerians in the diaspora have been attending the election tribunal sittings to show support, and they are preparing to participate not only at the inauguration but also be a part of the Tinubu’s administration.”
