HIGHER EDUCATION IS VERY EXPENSIVE, GOVT ALONE CANNOT FUND IT EFFECTIVELY – UI VC

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Prof. Kayode Adebowale FAS, MNI has acknowledged that the government alone cannot cater for the higher education system in Nigeria as it is a very expensive venture.

This, he stated at the commissioning and opening of the new University Health Services (UHS) Pharmacy Shop donated by the former Dean of Science, retired Prof. Titi Hassan.

Prof. Adebowale maintained that the current funding system used by the government cannot fund the system effectively, hence the need for the government to adopt a more workable funding system to steer up the education system in Nigeria.
