Cashless Policy: Calm Returns to Oyo Governor’s Office, After Hoodlums Attack

Calm has now been restored, hours after suspected hoodlums attacked the premises of Oyo state governor’s office at secretariat Ibadan pulling down the gates in the aftermath of the central bank of Nigeria (CBN) cashless policy.

Speaking on the development the executive assistant on security to Governor Seyi Makinde retired commissioner of police Sunday Odunkoya said residents have a right to protest, but damaging public infrastructures is uncalled for.

He also appealed to aggrieved residents to eschew violence and exercise patience, as the new monetary policy affects every Nigerians, while reminding Nigerians that the policy is at a maturing stage.

An eyewitness who spoke from the position of anonymity explained that the hoodlums came destroying facilities at the governor’s office in their quest to gain access to governor Makinde.
