Buhari reappoints Abike Dabiri-Erewa as NiDCOM chair

President Muhammadu Buhari has requested the senate to confirm Abike Dabiri-Erewa for a second term as chair of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM).

Buhari’s appeal was contained in a letter that Senate President Ahmad Lawan read aloud on the floor of the upper legislative body on Tuesday.

The commission, which has its headquarters in the federal ministry of foreign affairs, is led by its first chair, Dabiri-Erewa.

She served as the president’s senior special assistant for international and diaspora affairs before to becoming the helm of NiDCOM.

Dabiri-Erewa previously served as a representative for Lagos’ Ikorodu constituency in the green chamber of the national legislature.

The president requested that six commissioners be appointed to the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) in a separate letter to the upper legislative body.

Ayogu Eze (Enugu state), Peter Opara (Imo state), and Hauwa Aliyu (Jigawa state) were nominated by the president.

The others are Kolawole Daniel Abimbola (Oyo state), Tanko Ayuba Haruna (Kebbi state), and Ismaila Mohammed (Kwara state).
