Aregbesola tackles Oyetola over education policy reversal

Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, a former interior minister, criticized Mr. Gboyega Oyetola over the weekend for changing the education program he implemented in Osun State while in office.

Aregbesola, on the other hand, claims to be fulfilled, having served in positions of authority three times and leaving permanent imprints on his paths.

The former Minister spoke during a reception organized in his honor by the Old Students Association of Akoko Anglican Grammar School, Arigidi-Akoko in Ondo State.

On the education policy reversal, Aregbesola stated that the quality of education he had as a child influenced his education reform as governor of Osun State.

“The 4-5-3-4 policy introduced by Obafemi Awolowo was aimed at bringing to the forefront the importance of education to society and ensuring that no child of school age is excluded from receiving a quality Western education,” he explained.

“All governments must understand that, no matter how appealing private schools are, they will never be able to supplant government-funded public foundation education schools.”
